Are you a Procurement professional looking for a new challenge? Our Siemens site in Warwick is on the lookout for a Procurement Specialist who will focus on the developing and implementing commodity strategies along leading strategic sourcing activities. You will join our Supply Chain Operations function which sits within the Aero Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) Product Line.

Over the past few years, our aero-derivative turbine business has successfully grown to be a €700million per annum global business by focusing on the supply and support of aero-derivative gas turbine packages and equipment to the global oil & gas and power generation markets. The business has supplied over 4,000 gas turbines to customers in over 80 countries accumulating over 200 million hours of operating experience. It is our vision to be the customers’ first choice for distributed power generation and compression systems solutions.

What part will you play?

  • Your portfolio will be primarily focused on Power Turbine (PT) components but it will also include Gas Turbine (GT) and Auxiliaries (AUX) components.
  • Lead sourcing actives and negotiations for medium / high value critical Purchasing activity to optimise cost opportunities and contract coverage
  • To develop and deploy Supply Chain strategies for PT, GT parts and/or AUX (including component repairs) driving long-term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery performance
  • Support internal Procurement transformational programmes
  • Co-ordinate and collaborate with global Supply Chain counterparts, Global senior stakeholders and other Procurement organisations within Siemens
  • Undertake major contractual and price negotiations with exiting key suppliers
  • Develop and foster mutually beneficial relationships with new suppliers, including risk-sharing partnerships where applicable enabling access to supplier technology and expertise
  • Make sourcing recommendations at BU and Siemens Energy Global Sourcing Board levels
  • Report on plans, activities and results to direct and functional managers
  • Ensure a close cooperation with Internal Customers to ensure customer care and early involvement
  • Assess Supplier and Commodity risks and align the Strategic objectives to mitigate the business exposure
  • Foster usage of eProcurement tools with the vision to grow standard catalogue coverage for major equipment

Skills and Experiences

We Don't Need Superheroes, Just Super Minds

  • Demonstrable experience in complex sourcing activities and developing sophisticated commodity strategies
  • Previous experience in working within a manufacturing / engineering setting
  • Experience working with a global supplier base and working within a matrix environment
  • Excellent Commercial and Contractual Acumen
  • You will have knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies including Lean & 6 Sigma
  • If you have worked within the power generation, oil & gas or aerospace industry this would be advantageous
