Summary
Job description
As a Facilities Project Manager, you are responsible for:-
- Development and delivery of all FM capital projects.
- The production and sign off of all business cases for each FM capital project.
- The production of meeting notes and actions from numerous project meetings ensuring they are circulated to relevant participants and acted upon.
- Requirement to research and analyse information for each capital project to comply with Building Regulations, Construction Design and Management Regulations and Greening Government initiatives.
- Production and development of specifications for each FM capital project to ensure the effective procurement of each project.
- The development of options and recommendations to contractors on buildings to ensure projects are delivered in line with statutory requirements.
- Risk Assessments and Method Statements of all contractors associated with projects to ensure projects are managed in a safe environment.
- The production and management of information to provide assurances that all FM capital projects are delivered on time and to budget
- Providing advice and guidance to the FM team on small level capital works to ensure projects are delivered in line with statutory requirements.
- Representing Estates & Facilities at external contractor meetings providing answers to queries on policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the statutory compliance of each capital project delivered in line with DECA accredited quality management standard.
- Provide advice and guidance to Procurement with regards to the installation of mechanical, electrical and building fabric to ensure services are procured and delivered in conjunction with statutory requirements.
- Manage the accounting, costing and billing process in line with parameters set of each FM project.
- Presenting progress reports to Senior Management Team (SMT) and Executive Management Board (XMB).
- Evaluating projects against its agreed benchmark, sharing lessons and best practice with the organisation.
- Participate in Business Continuity Planning workshops and exercises.
- As and when required provide management and leadership to the FM team.
Work Environment
- You must be able to work in a busy office environment which can be noisy at times.
- You may be required to inspect building plant and boiler rooms where space may be confined.
- You must be able to undertake snagging on projects as part of the practical completion, whereby site attendance is required.

You should also produce a 10 minute Powerpoint presentation on planning and delivering a small construction project, including:-
- How you would carry out the planning phase.
- Who you would involve from a stakeholder perspective.
- What regulations/legislation should be considered.
- How you would ensure a formal documented approach is delivered.
The interview will last between 45 – 60 minutes.
Interviews are planned for week commencing 12th December 2022. A minimum of 5 full working days’ notice will be provided for interviews. We endeavour to stick to these dates, but these are subject to change around business needs.
Feedback will only be provided if you attend an interview or assessment.

We are looking to recruit candidates with the following knowledge and experience:
- Previous experience of working within a busy Facilities Management department especially working on capital projects.
- Previous experience of working with numerous contractors on multiple projects enabling compliance with Construction Design and Maintenance (CDM) Regulations.
- Member of either; Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management (IWFM) or Association of Project Managers (APM)
Qualifications
Educated to a minimum of A level or equivalent and possess the following:-

NEBOSH/IOSH Diploma
CDM Certificate
