Siemens have a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Siemens Aero Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) business. Your new role will within the Technical Services function, reporting to the Head of SGT-A65 GT & Package Service Engineering.

As our new Mechanical Engineer, you will be based at our Warwick site (however some regional and international travel will be needed from time to time) and you will work and collaborate with a diverse team of engineers across the AGT organisation. This role has an emphasis on ownership and delivery, where you will apply your engineering knowledge to undertake reliability investigations and deliver technical solutions to operational issues impacting the SGT-A65 fleet of units.

We want to have people in our team who have varying levels of experience, so you might have recently completed your Mechanical Engineering Degree in or indeed have many years’ experience and be a well-versed Mechanical Engineer- we are looking forward to receiving an application from you!

Over the past few years, our aero-derivative turbine business has successfully grown to be a €700million per annum global business by focusing on the supply and support of aero-derivative gas turbine packages and equipment to the global oil & gas and power generation markets. The business has supplied over 4,000 gas turbines to customers in over 80 countries accumulating over 200 million hours of operating experience. It is our vision to be the customers’ first choice for distributed power generation and compression systems solutions.


What part will you play?

Utilise root cause analysis tools and techniques for effective issue resolution

Identify improvement opportunities to optimise product maintenance

Author user documentation such as troubleshooting guides and service bulletins

Communicate effectively with customers to present updates on the status of technical issues and solutions

Collaborate with regional based technical & project teams to support customers with urgent operational issues which require specialist product or engineering knowledge

Collaborate with the product design teams, modifications & upgrade teams and external suppliers to realise the opportunities of product improvements and upgrades.

Skills and Experiences

We don't need superheroes, just super minds We are looking for a passionate Engineer, who has a keen interest in as Gas Turbine Technology and has a methodical approach to their way of working are important qualities we are looking for. On top of this, you will have already gained; Mechanical Engineering Degree or experience gained within a metallurgical or mechanical integrity role previously great communication skills and an appreciation of cultural differences that comes with a global customer base If you have experience of Root Cause Analysis or have previously worked with Gas Turbine technology or similar industrial products would be advantageous but is not essential.
