Summary
In this Civil Service role you be required to work a hybrid model including from the office, remotely and from home to suit business needs, procuring equipment and services for defence as part of a multi-functional team.
An element of paid and funded business travel is required (subject to Government guidance related to COVID19), and you will contribute to forecasting and scheduling travel providing attendees the greatest possible notice.

Job description

You will be procuring equipment and services for defence under pan government Public Contract Regulations (PCR) and Defence and Security Public Contract Regulations (DSPCR). Your role will include pre-sourcing, sourcing and contract management activities.
You will work alongside Project, Engineering, Inventory and Finance professionals introducing equipment to service, managing availability in-service, and disposal at the out of service date. You and your team will work closely and develop a high degree of expertise in the equipment within the portfolio with you as the procurement manager.
We recognise the challenge of joining a new organisation, and will pair you with experience procurement professionals and enthusiastically support you to become an expert team member. Hybrid working drives good planning and regular effective communications. You will contribute to maintaining a close team working relationship in a world of distributed digital working.
Your portfolio will include equipment used in Land, Maritime and Air environments including communication, identification, avionics, medical and dental equipment, and test-equipment among others. DECA order book is growing and you will be part of delivering against our long-term secure agreements.

? Experience of the procurement of goods or services in any role
? Ordinary National Certificate (ONC) or other equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
? Willingness to work towards and achieve level 6 Member of the Chartered Institutes of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) within a reasonable and agreed timeframe (we will cover your training costs and provide you study time)
We will also consider the following desirable criteria:
