BAE Systems’ Land UK business designs, develops and manufactures a comprehensive range of munitions products for its main customer, the UK Ministry of Defence, as well as international customers. The business also develops and manufactures cased-telescoped weapons through its CTA International joint venture.
Land UK operates from a number of specialist facilities across the UK. In Glascoed, Monmouthshire, Land UK and its predecessors have operated a munitions manufacturing site since the Second World War.
The Company continues to invest in Glascoed. In the last few years, £48 million has been spent upgrading facilities in order to maintain Glascoed’s position at the forefront of world-class munitions manufacture. A similar level of investment is planned over the coming years on executing energetic material technologies.
