As part of their Regulation Roadshow, the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) are hosting two roundtables at Novotel Cardiff Centre on the 2nd of December.
DBT are keen to engage with businesses following the announcement of our new policy paper, ‘New approach to ensure regulators and regulation support growth’ This sets out their commitment to tackling regulatory complexity and burden, reducing uncertainty across the system and addressing excessive risk aversion.
They want to hear directly from businesses about how regulation impacts them and how they can create a more supportive regulatory environment for growth. To do this they have launched a Business Questionnaire, which they would encourage you to fill out. This will shape how the Government will meet its target to reduce the administrative burdens of regulation on business by 25%.
At the roundtable, DBT aims to discuss:
- The regulatory requirements that take the most time for businesses or their employees to comply with
- Opportunities for digitising regulatory processes and improving regulator performance
- Instances where regulation imposes direct costs or creates opportunity costs that limit innovation
- Opportunities to develop more inclusive regulation that reflects the needs of communities and industries across the UK
Please fill out this MS Form to RSVP to this invite and confirm attendance as soon as possible, please use this form to indicate the roundtable you will be attending
