 Job Overview and Responsibilities

  • You will build positive and professional relationships with composite materials customers/clients (primarily in the Automotive and Aerospace industry) to ensure that we delight and provide a positive Customer Experience. Collect and understand the Voice of the Customer and translate comments and areas of improvement into tangible and actionable plans
  • Support Growth activities through a collaborative team approach ensuring that new business/programs are won at the highest possible margins and revenues.
  • Maintain and grow sales volume at existing customers. Maximize marginal income and sales revenues in support of Business Line strategy. Where necessary influence the customer to utilize alternative Solvay products to execute on Product portfolio rationalization.
  • Formulate, develop and implement an approved sales strategy at strategic accounts. Apply Key Account management approaches where suitable
  • Supervise the business operations between customer and Solvay to ensure that the sales targets are met. Work closely with customers and other Solvay functions such as Customer Service, Planning, Quality Management and Collections Management to fix any potential disruption in the day to day business. Secure that the action plans are robust to provide permanent solutions specific to to the assigned customers
  • Support Project Management for product and process qualification programs to support growth. Initiate the internal qualification process, and lead Business Line activities at the customer. Initiate and manage technical support activities. Monitor and report program progress to management on an appropriate basis (at least monthly)
  • Protect our Business Line’s commercial interests by ensuring that long-term agreements are in place with all major customers. Utilize commercial skills to implement contractual terms and conditions that are consistent with goals and objectives and protect exclusive source agreements.
  • Provide reliable customer and market information and communicate appropriately throughout the organisation
  • Other responsibilities include regular sales forecast updates, monthly reports, customer visit reports and project/program updates
  • Contribute to the EMEA sales team’s overall performance and effectiveness by leading or participating in improvement or other projects that go beyond own customer portfolio (eg, enhancing sales processes, representing EMEA sales in other functions’ projects)

Skills and Experiences

  • Demonstrable and successful experience in sales of composite materials, to the automotive industry and/or aviation industry (5 - 10 years).
  • Business or Technical Degree
