FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW 16-22 JULY 2018
I am pleased to announce that the Welsh Government and Aerospace Wales will once again be taking a stand at Farnborough Air Show 16-22 July 2018. The stand will be located within the new permanent UK Pavilion.
Farnborough Airshow, the biggest trade air show in the UK, is held every two years. It lasts for a whole week. The first four days, Monday to Thursday, are trade days when £billions of international business is transacted. Friday is “Futures Day” when young people are encouraged to attend and learn about aviation and associated sciences. At the weekend it becomes a public airshow. In 2016 it attracted more than 1500 exhibitors from 52 countries and 82 of the top 100 aerospace companies participated.
The Welsh Government has put together packages of support to encourage Wales based companies to stand share with us and have a presence at the show. There are two options as follows:
Larger stand space plus exhibition passes – £4000
Smaller stand space plus exhibition passes – £2000
At this stage we can not be specific on the amount of stand space allocated to each company until we know how many companies wish to participate. If you would like to join us please complete the attached application form and return to Sue.firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com by Friday 9 February.
There is likely to be high demand for this event and applications will be judged on the strength of the business case presented, including evidence that the event fits with the business strategy, market research and the potential return on our investment. All applicants will be notified by Friday 16 February.
As already mentioned we will be exhibiting in the brand new, permanent exhibition hall. Under the terms and conditions for use of this hall, the Welsh Government needs to keep the stand manned over the weekend. The focus and signage for the stand will be changed from Friday to a more family orientated theme with an emphasis on attracting young people to get involved in STEM activities supported by members of our Innovation Team. Companies do not need to remain on stand after Friday unless you want to and there will be no additional charge if you do wish to stay for the weekend. Please indicate on the application form whether you would like a Monday to Friday or Monday to Sunday option.
